Harvest 2006

As predicted early in the year, the wine crop came in smaller then average with higher then average juice quality. Wine club members got to join in the harvest in Mid-September and were meticulous in delivering clean fruit. So thanks in part to their diligent work; we are forecasting another excellent Blanc de Noir, sparkling wine!!

3rd Annual Halloween Ghost Walk

We had a blast putting on our Halloween show this year. Perry had a large crew and the spooks were better than ever. Next year will be sure to top this one so mark it on your calendar, the weekend before Halloween.

Our Wine Club

We started our first wine club this year and have been thrilled with the enthusiasm and support. We are hosting two dinner parties this winter for our Wine Club members in our bayside home and are in the process of planning some more events for next year.

Holiday Wines

The holidays are fast approaching and The Old Field Vineyards' Blanc de Noir is the perfect accompaniment to any festive occasion. Perfect with most foods and refreshingly smooth and palate cleansing. The Blush de Noir makes for a light, pretty wine to serve with that left over turkey sandwich, salad or the afternoon cheese plate. The Merlot works with everything and the Chardonnay is always a welcome addition to the dinner table. So stock up now and ask about our gift baskets too.

Our Wines

2001 Merlot
This reserve wine which has extended barrel aging of 30 months, exhibits the blackberry, black cherry fruit of a premium merlot and a bold spicy flavor due to the 10% Cabernet Franc. Big tannins will allow this wine to age for 5-10 more years.
$19.00/bottle $205.20/case

2003 Chardonnay
This wine, made with 100% Chardonnay, was placed in french oak barrels for two and a half months. The fruit is fresh and crisp with green apple up front and finishes with lemon-citrus. We produced 246 cases. 5 cases remaining!
$16.00/bottle $172.80/case

2000 Merlot
A Merlot and Cabernet Franc blend (90% ñ 10%) with a big, fat, black-raspberry fruit nose and a hint of cedar mint. It has a very soft mouthfeel and balanced tannins giving structure and complexity. The growing year was perfect, weather-wise, and we produced 1194 cases. The wine went through malolactic fermentation and barrel aging for 20 months: 10 months in new barrels, then 10 months in old barrels. Unfiltered and oenologically reductive, this wine opens beautifully in the glass.
$16.00/bottle $172.80/case

2001 Blanc de Noir
Filled with bright, white, cherry Pinot Noir fruit, this driest of the sparkling wines will delight your mouth with its tiny bubbles! Made using the French MÈthode Champenoise Style ó the secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle where the wine remains until it is sold. This allows for the wine to become more fully integrated with the yeast which produces a more complex wine. Only 20% of the United States' sparkling wine is produced using this method because it takes extra labor, time, and aging space.
$35.00/bottle $420.00/case

2003 Blush de Noir
The still half of our sparkling and made from Pinot Noir grapes, this wine tasting of honey, grapefruit and a touch of strawberry makes a refreshing treat for a warm, lazy afternoon.
$9.00/bottle $97.20/case
